As the Merchandise Director, you'll oversee a team of 3 direct reports and 8 indirect reports across merchandise planning, product development and licensing.

About the role:

  • Develop and drive the merchandise strategy and lead product & planning functions providing crucial data and analysis to inform the decision making process enabling the business to achieve our sales, gross margin and sell thru targets.
  • Working with the CFO and Marketing Director to develop the high level trade plan, ensuring the financials are correct to back up the sales forecast
  • Lead the development of and positively engage internal teams and suppliers in adherence to the critical path deadlines.
  • Act as a central point of information for all teams to facilitate the forecasting and planning of design, product, production and sales.
  • Source and negotiate new partnerships and licensing arrangements ensuring they are in line with company sales and profit targets and collaborate with Design Director on Brand fit
  • Oversee and manage license partnerships
  • Lead and mentor a highly engaged team of eleven across merchandise, licensing and product development 
  • Deliver at pace. This is a business that has a release every fortnight, with smaller collections on the weeks in between. 


A little on you:

  • You've got years of experience leading a team in Product & Merchandise, including experience with global ranging, catering for summer & winter simultaneously. 
  • Leadership is second nature for you.  You're a real people person & collaborator.  You live the values & build highly engaged teams.
  • You know eComm, and have great experience in women's apparel. 
  • You're future focused, continually identifying what will resonate with an evolving audience, as well as analytical and can use data to identify what's historically worked.
  • You can demonstrate a deep understanding of their highly engaged, loyal, niche customer base.
